Simple DIY Mother’s Day Planter Gift -0-

I have another great printable and DIY idea for you Mom today from Sarah. She has come up with the most adorable planter idea for Mother's day. The printable can easily wrap around your planter and really personalize your gift!

Mother’s Day is just a couple weeks away and like many of us, I want to show my mom
how much I appreciate her. If you’ve already given your mom flowers, bath products,
and chocolate in Mother’s Days past, here’s a new idea—gift your mom a potted plant in
a festive, up-cycled container!

All you need to do is download and print out the label of your choice then follow these
simple steps:

• Small house plant (I choose this succulent because they require virtually no upkeep
and do great indoors)
• Metal tin (I used a metal tin that a cookie mix came in, you can also use any type of
metal can or you can purchase a similar metal tin)
• Drill and large bit or a hammer and nail
• Handful of large rocks, used for drainage
• Potting soil
• Printable Mother’s Day labels (download below)
• Printer
• Scissors or paper cutter
• Double-stick tape

1. Gather all the above supplies.
2. Drill a hole in the bottom of the tin to allow for drainage. If you don’t have a drill, you
can also use a large nail and a hammer to punch a hole.
3. Place some large rocks in the bottom of the tin.
4. Add the potting soil to the tin. Remove the plant of the container it came in and place
it in the tin. Add some more potting soil around the plant.
5. Print out the label of your choice and use scissors or a paper cutter to cut it out. If
necessary, trim it to fit the metal tin. Use double-stick tape to adhere the label to the
metal tin. Now you’re ready to give it to mom!

What You Should Be Buying Right Now at Anthropologie -0-

Although Anthropologie can be a little pricey it is still one of my go-to places for unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. Some of my favorite items in my home are from there. Plus this candle is almost always lit in my house. Here are some items I'm loving at Anthro right now.

Adorable, adorable, adorable

Quick someone throw a party so you can use these cute jars!

Cut this up and make it into pillows! Or use it as a tablecloth and have the prettiest dinner ever.

From the first time I saw this adorable little vessel I wanted it!

I love Anthropologie's floral vases and this one is so delicate and ethereal looking.

This pillow is amazing and would add such wow-factor to a kid's space.

This little whale is adorable and would look way cool on a bookshelf.

If this was on my desk I would smile everyday.

Doesn't this look like the most comfortable dress in the world?

This dress is stunning and on sale!!

What have you been loving at Anthropologie lately?

Flower Frenzy -I-

The flowers in our studio are blooming like crazy -- our sculpted clay flowers of course.  All of these flowers have genuine Swarovski crystal centers and a special snap embedded in back so they can be easily added to our different necklace components.  They can be arranged in different color combinations or pop one onto a hair barrette, bracelet or ring.

We wanted to have a good supply of items for the Craft Culture show this weekend so have been putting in long days.

Mother's Day Printable -0-

Today I am excited to share this Mother's Day printable that Diana has come up with! I love her reasoning for picking this quote and I'm sure all our Mothers could use this reminder that they are doing a good job!

I've been thinking a lot about Motherhood and what it means to me exactly especially since Mother's Day is just in 2 weeks.  I think moms all around the world set expectations for themselves that are just too hard to meet and we beat ourselves down.  The best days for me as a mother, are when I become more involved in my kids lives rather than trying hard to get everything done.  I heard this quote a few weeks ago and it has stuck with me ever since.  I feel like we are amazing mothers and there are SO many ways to be one.  This print is downloadable in an 8x10 size and would make a great gift for any mother in your life because we all feel this sense of overwhelming task we have to complete in order to be the best mom! Happy Mother's Day and enjoy this free downloadable print!

Diana is a graphic designer running her own shop called Livy Love Designs.  She loves using fresh color schemes and bright patterns.  She enjoys drawing, sewing, and learning new recipes.  She is married and has two little kids who she attributes where most of her inspiration comes from.  Aside from her shop, she has recently started working with Modern Yardage and is a fabric designer for them, which has been a dream of hers ever since she started graphic design.  You can follow along with her blog at Livy Love.

Family Basement Reveal -0-

Today I am sharing a basement makeover I recently did with Erin. Yesterday I gave some insight into the process and shared all of the before pictures but just as a reminder here is the basement before...

We lightened it, layered it and brought in some color! I love how it turned out.

Our clients had the room painted in Restoration Hardware's silver sage at 75%. Those tan walls HAD to go!

Immediately when you enter the basement you see this table and these lamps. The table is from DownEast Home. The coral is also from DownEast.  The lamps are from Lamps Plus. We got the curtain panels from West Elm

I'm so glad we decided to use a rug to ground the t.v. seating area. I think it was necessary in this long room.

The rug is the Charing Cross rug from Serena and Lily. Side tables are the Bone Side Tables from West Elm. The t.v. console is the Blake Grey Wash Media Console from Crate and Barrel.

The spindle chair is from Alice Lane Home Collection. The ottoman was reupholstered in Westley in Indigo by Pindler. Rocky Mountain Upholstery did all the upholstery for the space.

The blue pillows are from Plush Studio. The tan pillow is to-the-trade.  We had the sofa upholstered in Pindler & Pindler Sanderson in Parchment.  It's a super durable fabric and soil and stain resistant!

We took their existing chair and upholstered it in Robert Allen's Nesting Zig Zag

The ivory pillow is from Target. The coral pillow is from West Elm.

We got this great garden stool on Overstock. We used grasscloth on the back wall to create more of focal point in the nook.

The leaning ladder is from Amazon.

The shelf turned out so much better once it was painted white! We added a bunch of accessories from Target and T.J. Maxx.

I picked up a beautiful asian needlepoint from a thrift store for a steal! While going through our clients things we found this adorable house made out of popsicle sticks that one of their sons made. I love using sentimental items in our decor whenever possible!

In the seating area the octopus art is such a statement! The chairs are $215 a piece on Overstock.

We found this desk at Pottery Barn. The desk chair is the Porter Upholstered chair from West Elm.

We printed off this rock art from here.

This room was so much fun to design and install. Game rooms and basements are usually a dumping ground for all the leftover furniture and decor. But I believe they should get a little attention too! After all this where your family will be gathering and spending so much time together.

A BIG thank you to Jylare Smith Photography for taking these great images!
